Sunday Driver – A Short Film & New Production Company

I’ve always enjoyed watching films. My first job was at Blue’s Movie Depot in St. Francis, MN. I’m not sure I got paid for working there, but I do remember that I was able to bring home as many movies as I wanted each night after my shift. And I did. The summer before my freshmen year at college, I would watch at least 3 movies a night. Since then, I’ve continued to consume movies, not at the same rate of course, but the accumulated years of watching movies has inspired me to want to make my own.

Over the years, I have participated in various film challenges, but I’ve never taken the time to properly plan and execute a film project. Over the past couple of weeks, this has all changed. My new planning and creative partner, Teah Strandjord, has inspired me to do things the right way. We created a new production company called Propriis Films, which will serve as the organizational basis for our future film endeavors. Today marked the public announcement of our first project: Sunday Driver.

We have been writing scripts, story lines, scouting locations and planning for a couple of weeks now. It’s been a wonderful process. We’re doing it the right way (thanks to Teah’s insistence). We’ve studied, researched and made a few strategic purchases. It hasn’t been without tense moments, but I have learned a lot in the process. The most important thing learned so far is that there is nothing better than doing something you’re passionate about and doing it with your best friend. She challenges me to be a better writer, better planner and better thinker. The end result will be a wonderful film. I can’t wait for you all to see it.

Developed to become a central portal and health management destination for people with chronic medical conditions such as: AIDS, HIV, Organ Transplants, Hepititis-C and more. Typical patients require 24/7 health management and spend on average $5,000 or more a month on prescriptions. The portal was designed to be a gateway to help patients interact with an online specialty pharmacy, contact online nurses and learn about their conditions.

Each year when the new model boats come out, dealers and preferred customers get excited to see what the new features and enhancements are. We were asked to develop an experience which would allow dealers to preview the new boats and learn about the latest upgrades, engine modifications and potential MSRP changes.

Ecolab: Global Films – “Epic” :60

Ecolab had recently purchased Nalco for $6.5b and needed to tell the story of why the companies made sense together. We brought them an audacious idea to travel around the world and capture people, places and things that Ecolab protects. In 6 weeks, we traveled from Minneapolis to LA, from LA to Alaska, Alaska to Brazil/Venezuela, Brazil to Minneapolis, Minneapolis to China, China to Scotland and then back home.
